two years.

a story.

one barefoot day in july...

i put on a pretty dress...

and walked down a green grassy lane (amidst friends and wasps...) to the man of my dreams...

we sang some hymns...

nervously giggled and exchanged some vows...

and washed some feet...

we took some pictures...

danced together...

and did the hokey pokey (it is what it's all about...)

and at the end of it all, i was married to the man who is better than any of my dreams could have imagined.

when luke asked me to marry him, he asked me if i would adventure with him for the rest of our lives. and adventuring is what we do best. year 1 and 2 have been full of adventure, seeking to love God and our city and our neighbors and each other. year 3 is going to bring whole new adventures, heartache and joy, but i feel like we're moving more and more into our purpose, and what God wants for us. i can't wait to see what it looks like to serve together in another country, and to continually move deeper and deeper into joining God among the urban poor. so here's to two good years, and moving headfirst into year three!

(i really, really love this man. and though i thought it was impossible to love him more than i did on july 5, 2008, i definitely love him more today than i did then. man, july 5, 2058 there is going to be a ridiculous amount of love...)

ps. i actually wrote this on july 2 before we left for our anniversary camping trip and scheduled it to post on july 5. we'll see how this works...

This is a wonderful story! I'm so happy to be a witness to its continued unfolding.

God has blessed you both with each other, and we are so very grateful.
