Picture Project Post--January 17th-25th

I know that I change my blog around a lot. I blame the 30+ employers who haven't contacted me back about my resume.

In all reality, though, I went to the National Gallery of Art yesterday and the fountain was in full bloom with gorgeous flowers. I took a lot of pictures and I wanted to display one on my blog permanently...as for the title, well I couldn't find a good quote/saying/phrase that fit both my blog and flowers, so I just went with "Untitled", which I'm pretty happy with. I'm open to suggestions, though...if anyone feels the need to rename my blog.

I love going to the National Gallery of Art. There I'm surrounded by so much talent I don't know what to do. I decided that I really love artists who paint landscapes. I can look at a painting for several minutes (longer if there were no one else in the room) and then close my eyes and imagine that I'm there. For the really good artists, you can actually breathe in a breath of fresh air, hear the ocean hitting the rocks or feel the sunshine on your face. I've decided that I really love the National Gallery of Art.

Sorry the pictures are a bit late this week. It's been a week full of friends...and that makes me very happy.

January 17, 2009: You know the Inauguration is coming up when you go to the grocery store and see Obama Cookies and Obama/Biden cakes.

January 18, 2009
: The visit of Liz and Amanda! In the tunnel heading to the Modern Art section of the National Gallery.

January 19, 2009
: Huddled on the couch for one last picture before heading out for the drive home.

January 20, 2009
: It was a huge toss-up between President Barack Obama's face on a huge jumbo-tron and this adorable child who was running around in front of us wearing an oversized t-shirt of the Obama Family while waiting in 20 degree weather. I think I made the right choice. And if Obama had any thoughts about this blog I think he'd agree.

January 21, 2009: Luke cooks dinner.

January 22, 2009
: It was a pretty uneventful day. We did go to some new friends' apartment for dinner. I wore this bracelet (but didn't want to scare off said new friends by busting out the camera in their apartment.)

January 23, 2009: Being sketchy. Those little boys were so cute, and very intrigued with what was around them--much to the dismay of their father. It took them about 5 minutes to walk about 5 feet--of course they had to stop to climb over a fence and play in the dirt.

January 24, 2009: Tourist day with Whitney! In the Smithsonian Museum of American History in the Abraham Lincoln section. We were reading the Emancipation Proclamation. It was pretty amazing.

January 25, 2009
: A shot of the aforementioned flowers. They were really beautiful and I definitely spent a good 10 minutes taking pictures of them. Their beauty, however, could not be captured. And I think it should be that way.

I love the Obama cookies! Way too cute. Please tell me you bought some. :)

Oh, and I'm actually writing in my blog now, instead of just using it to post comments.

That's SO cool you got to go to the inauguration. That's definitely an historical event, no matter the president. :)
