Snowmageddon (and Beyond!)

So, it's been crazy. We got over 2 feet of snow over the weekend and so we were out of work Monday and Tuesday for that. Yesterday afternoon the blizzard (or as it's being called--"Snowverkill") started, and we're off work today and tomorrow for that. We'll see about Friday, I guess. But it's been good. Luke and I have both still been working (me less than Luke, which is only fair, since mine is an internship...), but it's been nice to be home. It's weird though, I've actually missed running. All this snow is really going to put us behind in our training...

I promised some pictures, so here they are! Snowmageddon* 2010. Enjoy.
(P.S. I got tired of wrestling with formatting...sorry if they are not pretty...)

This Dad and his daughter were so cute! He was shoveling out their car and she was "helping" by using her hands. Then they took a break and built a snowman.

Luke decided to make a bench for me. And then he jumped in the snow. (That picture of me is absolutely horrendous. You do NOT need to make it bigger to look at it...)

At this point it was already really deep...and it was still snowing.

The sun finally came out on Sunday (how appropriate) and it was beautiful...

The picture of Luke on the "ridge" definitely had me bursting into a rendition of "Climb Every Mountain."

Also, I don't know how many of you have been in Ft. Totten Park, but the hole Luke is jumping into is generally much deeper...that's a lot of snow.

The picture of me on the road was walking down towards North Capitol Street. The whole community was out shoveling and talking to each other. It was a pretty cool day.

Being stuck inside I've also gotten to do a few fun things, like read, bake and make cards. I baked a bunch of cupcakes for the Super Bowl on Sunday from scratch! They were so good! Maybe if this whole missions thing doesn't work out, I can open a cupcake shop...they're pretty big around here...
...And of course, I painted my toenails for the game tonight. GO HEELS!

Oh, and also, this cracked me up:

Pearls Before Swine

Hey! I can help you in your business because I like making cupcakes, too!
