100 joys--mountain edition

we spent the second half of christmas day and the rest of our nc vacation in the mountains and got snowed in for a lovely extra day. here are my joys from our time in the mountains.

(83) mountain snow. and getting a lot of it.

(84) having a brother. and a husband who are goofy together and make me laugh.

(85) my mother-in-law. and taking picture hikes with her. i'm glad we have photography in common. (and her red hat was awfully fun to photograph in a world that was mostly gray (or shades of it)

(86) sledding. and sledding trains that inevitably end in crashes and fits of giggles.

(87) Cayli. i really enjoy spending time with this woman.

(88) snowy beards. i think that they are funny and four of the men had them at some point during our sledding escapades. clearly evidence of a good time.

(89) twinkle lights in the snow. i spent a long time just staring at them. they are peaceful.

(90) quiet times while looking out over the mountains in christmas pajamas. i don't really think any explanation needs to be given (except that there is a beautiful view from this window that you cannot see in this picture.)

(91) a clearing storm. the snow stopped on monday morning, and as much as i really enjoy snow, i also really enjoy seeing blue sky.

(92) being protected. i got into a sledding accident while in nc. i wasn't going to include this as a joy because it wasn't really a joy. it hurt. however, the damage was incredibly minimal compared to what it would have been. i came out of the ordeal with just a beat up face, a sore jaw, and a chipped back molar. nothing broken, and the dental work was minimal. when i realized this, i realized that it is a joy. plus, i earned the title "cool" from my brother-in-law and husband.

(93) taking pictures in the snow. and the way that everything looks prettier and brighter in the snow. the blues bluer. the greens greener. and roads look like enchanted pathways.

that's all for the mountain edition. tomorrow i'll finish up! on another note, does anyone else find it hard to stop listening to christmas music after december 25th? i'm still listening to my pandora acoustic mix...
