Picture Project Post--February 26th-March 5

So I admit it. I'm slightly obsessed with changing up my blog. I just continually find different quotes that fit who I want to be/ what I want to believe/ what I want my blog to be about. And this one seemed to fit the moment. So there you have it. That and I like to procrastinate doing laundry.

Tomorrow Luke and I leave to go skiing! We'll leave early afternoon to go up to 7 Springs in Pennsylvania. It's supposed to be warm...go figure.

So here's this week's picture post!

February 26, 2009: Yes, it was a slow day. But I did have this delicious ham and avocado sandwich for lunch. And frozen berries. I took pictures of food on our colorful plates, because I thought I would make myself more artistic. As you can see, I had not yet started my Lenten fast...

February 27, 2009: It was a beautifully mild and rainy day, and walking through Fort Totten park I saw this tractor mowing the lawn, and had a long conversation with the manager of the community garden who was preparing his soil for the spring...little did we know...

February 28, 2009: We went to Ben's Chili Bowl with Uzma before the game. Ben's Chili Bowl has been Black owned since 1958 and is considered a DC landmark. It has served Bill Cosby and President Obama and there is a sign in Ben's that says "Who Eats Free At Ben's: Bill Cosby and the Obama Family (BUT HE PAID!!!)". It was pretty amazing, and everyone should eat there at least once (or more, if possible!)

March 1, 2009: Snow in March! It was hardly snowing when we got to our Marriage Course at 4:30 and by 7:00 it was POURING snow. How fun! Unfortunetly...it was in March. Oh well, Spring will come soon enough.

March 2, 2009: Snow Day! Luke decided to work from home, so in mid-afternoon we took a break to go play in Fort Totten Park in the snow! It was beautiful. The sun shining through the snow-covered trees was actually quite breathtaking.

March 3, 2009: Happy Birthday Dad T.! As mentioned before, I attended a church dinner meeting. They had these salt and pepper shakers, which were absolutely adorable. AND they moved!

March 4, 2009:
On Wednesdays when I don't have any reason to ride Metro, I eagerly await Luke's return with the ONION, a satirical newspaper, which is amazing. This week's top story read "Obama Outfitted With 238 Motion Capture Sensors for 3-D Record of Presidency". The pictures were AMAZING and can be viewed here.

March 5, 2009: I made M&M cookies today for the ski trip. I can't wait to taste them! (I'll admit it here and now, I'm taking a break from eating with the poor this weekend because Luke and I had registered for the ski trip before I decided to do it, and I won't really have the ability to make rice and lentils in a hotel room...plus part of the deal is free breakfasts and a free pizza dinner...). But I haven't touched the cookies yet!
