I know, this is my second post in pretty much the same hour. I knew that I wanted to post pictures, too, but I didn't think it fit my last post, so I'll just post again!
I wanted to say that there have been little glimpses of beauty in the past couple of weeks, even though sometimes if feels like everything is ugly and gross. One of those was definitely Monday night small group. But two happened over the weekend that I captured on camera and I wanted to share.Over the weekend my mom, sister and Grandma and Pappap came to Washington, DC. We had so much fun while they were here. Even though it was grey, foggy and a little bit rainy out, we went to the World War II Memorial. My Pappap is a World War II Veteran. It meant so much for me to get to see the Memorial with him and with my Grandma. One thing that the Memorial Volunteer pointed out was the while the other War Memorials in Washington, DC are dedicated specifically to the Veterans, the WWII Memorial is a Memorial to everyone who was alive at that time, for the people who fought, as well as their families back home. It meant a lot to visit a Memorial with the people for whom it was built.
My Grandma and Pappap are amazing people. They have been through a lot, and yet remain faithful to the Lord and to each other. They are wonderful examples to me of how I want to live my life, as well as to Luke and I about what Holy Matrimony, dedicated to God, looks like. I am constantly reminded how lucky Luke and I are to have such wonderful parents and grandparents who show us first, what it looks like to follow God and second, what it looks like to have good marriages. We are so, so blessed.
Also, the cherry blossoms are starting to bloom in Washington, DC. I'm sure I will take more pictures, but I also got some good ones last weekend!
Some of the pictures I took last weekend are below. I've edited some of them (mainly the ones of my Grandparents), but I didn't edit any of the ones of the flowers.
